Information about Mark
I have over 30 years’ experience as a Physics teacher at an OFSTED-Outstanding co-ed Grammar School. I am recently retired from my role as a Deputy Headteacher and Physics teacher and I now split my working life between Physics tuition online and my work as a woodcarver selling sculptures on ETSY (“WoodturningfromMark”).
I am married with two grown-up children and 4 dogs.
Availability: I am currently taking bookings from students who will be sitting their GCSE and A level Physics in Summer 2026

Experience: Over 30 years’ experience of teaching Physics at GCSE and A level in a popular and successful state school.
I can also teach the Mechanics sections of Maths and Further Maths A level.
Most of my current online students are attending top schools in UK, but I also teach A level Physics students from across the world including from Madrid, Brussels, Istanbul, Karachi, Genoa, Valencia, Tokyo and Kazakhstan.
I have also home-schooled a student to Physics A level online, and for the last 2 years I have taught a Y13 Physics class online for a school in London that was unable to appoint a face-to-face Physics teacher.

I highly recommend Mark. He is knowledgeable, experienced, and patient. my son think he explains A-level Physics clearly and effectively. Mark is also very flexible when we need to change lesson times, which we really appreciate. Since starting lessons, my son’s confidence, understanding, and performance in Physics have improved significantly. We are very pleased with his progress and would highly recommend Mark to any student studying A-level Physics.

Mark is a great tutor! He helped my son tight his program knowledge, our mock exams results progressed from being 6-7 to strong 8 and his school science teacher now confidently says that my son will go into triple science cohort

Mark is an amazing tutor. He works at your speed, allows you to work it through and help if you get stuck. He has an in depth knowledge of the specification and is extremely knowledge able of all the topic. He will adapt to your style of working and will guide you along the way. If your looking for an A-Level Physics tutor to help improve your grade I would definitely recommend Mark.
