Information about Timothy
I am a York University Postgraduate Chemistry student with an excellent academic background, but, more importantly, I am a passionate teacher and love getting the best out of my students by building a strong rapport with them, by quickly learning what helps them to work most effectively, and by sharing my knowledge with them in a compartmentalised, understandable way.
I create a learning environment that is academically enriching whilst also really enjoyable for the student and I. If you would like to learn more about the way I work and how I can help you/your child, then please don`t hesitate to get in touch.
I have tutored a range of subjects up to and including Chemistry A-level and GCSE, along with advice on University admission applications.
I am currently undertaking my masters in Chemistry (MSc), specialising in Atmospheric chemistry modeling. I have extensive experience in teaching chemistry (including Chemistry A-level), physics, history, geography and politics (also self-teaching my politics A-level.
My experiences range from individual tutoring to teaching classes of up to 20 students. More recent experiences have included clients in GCSE Maths and English and A-Level chemistry. My personal preference is individual tuition or small class sizes, as it enables me to tailor my teaching style to my student(s). I cater for students of all levels of ability, and believe in the importance of unlocking the potential of every young person.
Availability: Available weekday evenings and Sunday evenings with flexibility on hours.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have 4 current GCSE and A-Level students, whom I teach Chemistry, Maths, English and Biology in the York city area.
I can email you my CV which lists my work and tutoring experience, along with other relevant experience.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Tim

Feedback For Timothy (2)

Tim was always very patient with me if I was finding it hard to grasp a concept, and he would always explain things to me to a very good level of detail which really helped me to understand Chemistry and the processes behind it rather than just being able to recite facts. He would explain things in a variety of different ways if one type of explanation was not working for me. Tim is friendly and easy to get along with and I would recommend him to anyone who is searching for a Chemistry tutor.
