I am a graduate with a degree in History and Russian from Durham university. I have worked in Moscow, Russia as a classroom assistant, teaching English as a foreign language, and in Durham I manage a student singing group, providing musical instruction on both an individual and group basis. I enjoy working both with children and with adults, spotting where a student`s difficulty is coming from and altering my explanations to help him or her grasp the topic.

As a singing teacher I can offer a mixture of practical tuition and foundation music theory. My strengths are in building student confidence and assisting students in identifying and solving problems with the voice.

When teaching languages I offer a mix of grammar and conversation practise, delivered in various styles modified to the individual pupil`s needs, whether they learn best through games, drills, reading, writing or chatting.

As a history and English literature tutor I can offer analysis of literary or historical themes, help students to improve the quality of their written language and the clarity of their arguments, give advice on exam technique and provide further reading.
