I take an individual approach to tutoring, adapted to the specific needs of every student, and dependent on their level of understanding and learning style. My lessons are a conversation, not a lecture, in which I engage with students with good humor.

My lessons are also exam-focussed. It is never to early to look at past papers, and I do this with the aim of the student becoming totally familiar with the exam style, in order for it to be seen as an opportunity to show what they can do, rather than something to be dreaded. I also look for opportunities for enrichment in the subject to discuss interesting concepts in more detail and stretch the student if appropriate.

Weekends and occasionally evenings. I am happy to arrange regular weekly lessons, or to take students flexibly and ad hoc.

I can drive to you, or you can come to me, but please be aware that I charge travel expenses if the journey takes me longer than 10 minutes.

Experience: I have tutored students privately and through my school and university, including several with special needs.

I was a youth worker for a period of 6 months, and have baby sat children from the ages of 3-13.
