I have over 25 years of teaching experience and an outstanding track record. I have successfully prepared students for GCSE and A Level, as well as 11+ and 13+ examinations for grammar schools and the independent sector. In addition, I have prepared students for Oxbridge as well as SAT or ACT entrance examinations into American universities. Currently, I am an examiner for AQA; however, I have a full understanding of the syllabus taught by other examination boards.

I enjoy motivating young people, helping them to gain confidence in their studies. My friendly but firm approach to tutoring very much focuses on the needs of the individual and helps students to gain confidence in their learning and achieve their maximum potential.

For the past five years, I have tutored privately from either my studio office in my garden,
or lessons have been on Zoom. Some of my recent students have achieved Grade 9 in GCSE English Language and Literature, as well as an A* grade in English Literature and English Language A Level. It has also been very rewarding working with young people who are finding aspects of their study challenging and I have helped them to achieve that all important Grade 4 at GCSE. Some of my recent students have improved from a Grade E to A* at A Level, and a Grade 3 to Grade 7 at GCSE. Whatever your son/daughter’s ability, lessons are designed for their individual needs so that they can excel and achieve their potential.

I have also had success in helping students in their 11+ and 13+ examinations and achieve a place at local grammar schools such as Marling, Stroud High and Pate’s, as well as independent schools in the Bristol/Gloucestershire area, for example, Bristol Grammar School, QEH, Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Cheltenham College.

With 24 years of teaching English Language and English Literature to students of all abilities, I have the in-depth knowledge and experience to help your son or daughter develop their skills and achieve.

Experience: I have been teaching since 1997, and have taught students of all abilities aged between 11 and 18. Currently, I am working in the independent sector teaching English Language and English Literature at both GCSE and A Level.

I have been privately tutoring since 2015 and have found it to be an incredibly rewarding and enjoyable experience. My tutees have been of a variety of abilities and have aged between 10 and 19 years of age. I have focused on GCSE, A Level, SATs, 11+/13+ entrance exams, Oxbridge candidates as well as SAT/ACT entrance examinations for American universities.
