I have taught English literature for more than 20 years in a variety of independent and state schools as well as teaching EFL both here and abroad. I have had great success getting students high grades at A level and GCSE and have also helped students gain scholarships to top private schools as well as entry to Oxford/Cambridge. I love teaching and can communicate well with students at all levels. I have also taught texts across many of the exam boards as well as examining for them so know how to prepare students for important exams. I am easy-going and friendly so most students have said they enjoy my lessons a lot and learn very quickly exactly what it takes to do well in the subject. I am married and have a five year old son. My wife is also a teacher.

Availability: I am available most days as I work part time and write novels, so am flexible. I sometimes teach in coffee shops in town but other arrangements can be made. I have a pleasant home where some lessons also take place. I can usually do weekday evenings as well as weekends.

Experience: 5 years teaching in a university in Japan fifteen years in private and state schools/colleges in England teaching English language and literature. Exam marking for AQA and IGCSE. Tutoring to all levels including Oxbridge.
