Information about Gargi
Hi!
I`m currently a first year student studying biochemistry at the University of Oxford. I am very enthusiastic about my subject and hopefully this means my lessons will be engaging and informative. In addition to helping with GCSE, A level and KS3 subject content, I`m more than happy to discuss personal statements, extended project qualifications and the Oxford biochemistry interviews as part of the lessons.
Having recently done the exams myself, I am familiar with the style of questions that they ask and I aim to help students develop the critical thinking skills necessary to answer them. I understand that mark schemes can be confusing and frustrating at times but hopefully I can help make sense of them. Since many students find GCSE and A level science courses particularly content heavy, I can share some strategies which I used to learn everything. I would like to teach using a tutorial style method where I ask simple questions along the way to improve comprehension of the subject and keep the student engaged, as well as build their confidence.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have a strong academic record, having achieved A*s in my biology, chemistry and maths A levels, as well as all 9`s and A*s at GCSE.
During my time in sixth form I helped out in the school science club, where I assisted KS3 students while they did experiments. I was also a mentor in the homework club, which was open to students from all year groups.
