Information about Caroline
My name is Caroline and I am a native German speaker, with over 9 years of teaching and tutoring experience.
I moved to London at the age of 4 and have attended the German School London until GCSE levels (all subjects taught in German, Gymnasialstufe). I have completed the International Baccalaureate at Richmond upon Thames College and I hold a Bachelors degree with Honours in Language and Cultural Studies issued by University College London (UCL).
Availability: Please see table below and do not hesitate to contact me to see if something can be arranged.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have taught German as a foreign language mainly to adult students at various levels (Beginner, A-Level, university degree level and for business use), making sure I tailor each lesson to my students` individual needs and personal interests, which are determined by a free taster session and an engaging Student Welcome Pack. I use my experience to develop diverse lesson plans, providing a wide range of resources including grammar worksheets, vocabulary games and resources from German media, journalism, literature and the arts. I have experience teaching adult students both one-on-one and in classes of up to 12 students. My goal is to enable students to develop confidence quickly when learning a new language and using German effectively in a variety of situations, whether that be in informal settings or business. Together, we set S.M.A.R.T goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely), which can help students stay motivated and give me an idea of how I can best support them in their studies.
I also have experience teaching at primary school level both one-on-one and as a nanny of three children (ages 3-8). Interactive teaching was tailored to their age groups (involving arts and crafts, sports, basic cooking and baking, story time, boardgames and card games).
