I am a philosophy graduate from Cambridge University and have recently passed my teacher training for maths with the Cambridge Teaching Schools Network, I have A*s at Maths A level & GCSE and heaps of patience - no question is a silly question! I work with students at their pace and help them understand the structure of maths so they can apply their knowledge flexibly (and not be tripped up by unfamiliar questions).
Pupils can find maths a tricky subject, especially if they fall behind or have a period away from it - but I believe every pupil can make great progress if they are given the right support and motivation. I promise to work my hardest for pupils, to show them that they can achieve their goals in maths and develop the valuable skill of self driven learning, which will help them throughout their lives.

Availability: All weekdays.

Experience: I recently finished a year of intensive teacher training, across two schools. I acted as a full-time teacher for several classes - including GCSE - and built good relationships with pupils. I also carried out two pieces of education research for a PGCE and wrote/read about many more theories in education for my SCITT.
I have experience tutoring 1:1 with four GCSE pupils.
My philosophy degree has made me familiar with explaining complex ideas in a simple way and with understanding how someone else is thinking about a topic.
