Information about Ryan
Teaching isnt just about subject knowledge its about building positive relationships too. I believe through being personable, enquiring and approachable I earn students trust. Through having this trust Im able to push them and demand the best from them. I myself have never settled for second best and therefore dont expect students to.
Whatever their targets and aspirations, I see it as my job to help young people realise them. All I ask is they show a willingness to learn by accepting the feedback and challenges I pose.
Availability: Available evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: In 2004 I completed my A Levels achieving A grades in English, Economics and History.
In 2007 I graduated from The University of Bristol with a 2:1 BA Hons in English.
In 2008 I graduated from The University of Leeds with an English Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
In 2012 my teaching was rated as Outstanding in a Mock OFSTED lesson inspection.
In 2013 my teaching was rated as Outstanding in an OFSTED lesson inspection.
Further, I have led training sessions on Assessment For Learning, which looks at a range of strategies to better develop students progress in the classroom.
In 2014 and 2015 I was an examiner for the AQA English Literature GCSE, which gave me a better insight into the exam system and how students can hit the different criteria points to secure top marks.
Last year, I worked in a tuition centre working with small groups from the ages of 11-16 to help prepare them for end of year exams and GCSEs
