Information about Sue
Born in Edinburgh, I qualified as a professional piano teacher following studies at Napier College, where I was awarded an ‘outstanding student’ medal.
I have two professional diplomas in piano teaching awarded by the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) and the Guildhall School of Music (LGSM).
I also studied music at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a B.Mus (Hons). Whilst there I was fortunate to be taught by the distinguished Hungarian pianist Joseph Weingarten, a graduate of the Liszt Academy in Budapest, whose teachers included both Kodaly and Dohnanyi.
I am also a professionally qualified youth worker with a Postgraduate Certificate in Youth and Community Studies awarded by Brunel University.
My varied career includes teaching, accompanying and performing concerto, solo and chamber music. I have performed throughout Britain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Now living in Blandford Forum, I enjoy working as a piano teacher and accompanist.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: All pupils who have entered exams have passed with merit or distinction.
I teach music theory alongside practical performance but can also provide specialist lessons.
I teach from my music studio in Blandford Forum town centre.
