Information about Olivia

Hi, I’m Liv! A recent graduate of Veterinary Medicine. I studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-Level, gaining all A grades (Maths was 2 Marks off an A*). I am offering tuition in GCSE & A-Level Maths, Biology & Chemistry. Please don’t hesitate to contact me to book our first session together!

The students that I have tutored have gone on to achieve, if not exceed, their goal grad, enabling them to meet their chosen university offer(s). It`s so special to be able to make a difference in someone`s life, and see students` go from feeling frustrated to feeling confident with their respective subjects!

I am able to tutor Pure & Statistical Mathematics having specialised in these areas during my A-Levels. The specific Statistics A-Level I undertook has provided a far deeper knowledge than is required in standard A-Level Maths which has proved to be of huge benefit for my tutees as they have been able to grasp required concepts far easier once having some of the bigger picture.

The most important part of tuition (alongside the tutors` qualifications) is gauging the students` understanding and application to allow for a high standard of questioning without becoming overwhelmed and losing confidence. The ability to invent new explanations and methods on the spot in order to benefit a particular student in their learning is something I have developed over the past few years and has allowed me to adapt and provide a far more personal service.

Throughout my final year of Sixth Form I was awarded both the Veterinary Medicine Award and, most importantly, the Nikul Patel Memorial Award for Mathematics from Mander Portman Woodward. This award is given to the student most dedicated and proficient in Mathematics who demonstrates an undeniable ability in the subject alongside an aptitude for learning & advancement.

Availability: My availability is flexible weekly depending on out-of-hours commitments as vet. This is why I only offer online sessions as it`s much easier for me to be flexible, but I do politely request, that my tutees are also flexible. I`m able to offer months` notice for my on-call rota and therefor can book tuition session up to a month in advance depending when suits yourself too.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have tutored peers and students in year groups below myself throughout school, but am an official tutor of six students over the past few years, consolidating &, in majority of cases, improving their final grades - one student went from a boundary level C grade to an A in National 5 Mathematics within a space of 5 months!
