Niki

Hi, I`m Niki. I am a secondary school English teacher and head of years 9, 10 and 11, based in Kingston. I also teach Dance and have taught Drama and Media Studies in the past. I am keen to help students of all ages - in particular, those at GCSE level - to excel in English and achieve their full potential. I am very knowledgeable on exam board requirements and I wish to offer a helping hand to those looking for any extra support in the lead up to exams. I primarily conduct sessions remotely.

Availability: Working remotely offers more flexibility. Mostly Sundays and Tuesday evenings but can negotiate.

Experience: I have been teaching English for 6 years and have done an additional year of primary school teaching (Maths, English and Science) overseas. My degree was in English Literature, but I am competent with both Literature and Language. In the past, I have taught English Literature and English Language (GCSE and A Level) Media Studies (GCSE), Creative Writing (AS level), Drama (Key Stage 3), Dance (Key Stage 3). I am currently teaching ages 11-18 (using the AQA specification for GCSE) so my understanding of the course is very fresh and thorough. I also have experience of exam paper marking.
Aside from the above, I have tried my hand at journalism, which has included three printed travel writing pieces in Y Magazine. I also organise school ski trips, in my additional role with PGL Ski. Finally, I am adept at teaching dance for performance. I am an English speaking teaching but I have an A Level in French so can support some learners with English as an additional language.
