Information about Ursula

Hello! My name`s Ursula and I`m about to start my 4th year studying medicine at Imperial College London. I achieved 10 A*s in my GCSEs and subsequently took the International Baccalaureate at Sevenoaks School, where I achieved a score of 44 out of 45 points. I took Biology, Chemistry and History at Higher Level, and Spanish, English and Maths Studies at Standard Level. I wrote my IB Extended Essay about the social and biological factors impacting the influenza pandemics in 1918 and 2009. Despite having been an IB student, I am very capable of teaching A level syllabuses too, and will be more than happy to read up on any subjects my IB syllabus did not cover!

I have a lot of medical school interview experience, including MMI, group discussion and panel interviews, and took both the UKCAT and BMAT; I am very familiar with both tests and would be more than happy to help with all aspects of the medical school application. Applying to medical school can be an incredibly daunting time, and as one of the unlucky applicants who had to apply twice to get into medical school, I have more experience than most and would love to share my top tips and offer support and guidance at this stressful time!

I appreciate that everyone learns differently, and would format our sessions to suit each individual student. It would be best if I could know any particular topics you would like to cover, or areas to work on, a few days before our session so that I can prepare resources and familiarise myself with your syllabus.

Please do get in touch if you would be interested in my help; I would be more than happy to teach Biology from any level up to IB/A level, Chemistry up to GCSE, and help with medical school applications and other personal statement advice. I am a patient, dependable and friendly teacher and would love to share my knowledge and help you reach your goals!

Availability: I`m available for online lessons only at the moment due to the social distancing policy, but I would be available to do these lessons on weekdays and weekends, whenever is most convenient for you.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: At school, I tutored a fellow student in the year below me in Biology, and last year I tutored a student for A level Biology and medical school applications, and another student for GCSE Biology. Presently I am tutoring a student in IB Higher Level Biology.
