Kathy

Kathy is a qualified, proficient and motivating teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, recently retired from teaching in the private sector but still passionate about supporting young people and adults, on their academic journey, to realise their potential, develop their skills and increase their confidence.

She has a wealth of experience and success in building positive relationships with both the young people in her care and with colleagues, having led a thriving department for 20 years. She strongly believes that the key to good progress in anything we do is to become fully engaged in the learning process, feel inspired to want to improve and have consistent, encouraging support. The starting point is not important, it is the journey we embark upon.

Kathy has taken great pride in the achievements of her students and in watching them blossom. For her, there is no greater satisfaction than opening doors and, in terms of language acquisition, seeing students become better communicators whilst learning about how language functions, the origin of the words we use and enabling students to widen their vocabulary and modes of expression. Learning a foreign language gives us a far greater insight into other cultures, helping us to form bonds and friendships with other nations. This has to be the best way forward in the world today.
