I’m a former Head of English, AQA examiner of over 14 years, and experienced English teacher with more than 14 years’ teaching experience across the UK and abroad.

I have successfully developed and led a high-achieving English department within one of the country’s highest-performing state schools, and I specialise in both AQA and Edexcel English.

I provide tuition for 11+, GCSE English Language and Literature, and post-16 resits. Over the years, I have helped numerous pupils succeed in the 11+, supported students working below a pass to progress to grades 6–9, and consistently helped resit students pass at their first attempt.

My tuition is focused, supportive and tailored to the individual student. I help pupils understand exactly what examiners are looking for, strengthen their reading and writing skills, build confidence and develop the independence needed to make lasting progress.

Whether a student needs to close gaps, secure a pass or push towards the highest grades, my aim is to make English feel clearer, more manageable and achievable.

Availability: I am available on weekdays and weekends.

* Specialist knowledge of both AQA and Edexcel English Language and Literature specifications.
* Extensive experience preparing pupils for 11+ entrance examinations, with numerous students achieving successful outcomes.
* Strong track record of supporting GCSE pupils to make significant progress, including students working below a pass who have gone on to achieve grades 6–9.
* Extensive experience supporting post-16 students resitting English, with pupils consistently securing a pass at their first resit attempt.
* Experienced in supporting both high-achieving pupils aiming for the top grades and students who need to rebuild core skills, confidence and exam technique.
