Information about Theo

Hello! I am an Undergraduate at Cambridge University reading for a degree in Music.

I tutor students in preparation for GCSE , IB and A-Level examinations as well as for students who require more general help and reassurance in their studies.

I have experience both academically and practically as a performer. I am an accomplished singer, violinist and violist (all of which were passed with grade 8 distinction).

My sessions have an informal atmosphere that encourages discussion and development of individual thinking. When there is a syllabus this is followed closely but I am a strong believer of excelling beyond these parameters as this tends to make the very best candidates.

I establish targets with my students as a way of laying out a learning trajectory which is conducive to effective and productive teaching.

Apart from music tuition I also offer History of art at all levels up to A-Level. I got 100% in this A Level and as a result have a lot of knowledge in how to write in a way which makes the examiners happy and secures the top grade.

Availability: All summer until mid-October. Flexible to suit you

Christmas and Easter holidays also.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I worked at school as a teacher in Music, Maths, English and History for a year, working with students on a one-to-one basis in preparation for their Common Entrance 13+ examinations.

I was part of the school`s Learning Difficulty department and I am therefore familiar with working with children of all levels.
