I teach to give people the confidence I never had to learn languages when I was younger!

Having completed 3 months of teacher training and passionate about the French language, I have achieved consistently high grades in this subject from school to degree level (A* at GCSE, A at A-Level and 2:1 at Degree Level), and I recently obtained 82/100 marks in the C1 Diplome Approfondi de la Langue Francaise (French fluency exam).

With experience of teaching more than 200 private lessons as well as classes in primary, secondary and sixth-form schools, I have also translated legal/insurance documents, general and official correspondence between companies and local authorities, as well as interpreted at presentations, conferences and official town council delegation visits.

With regard to my teaching style, I teach as much as possible in the target language where possible but I am flexible in my approach as I believe that we all learn in different ways, though when I have taught primary school children in the past, I have found the use of games and activities to be particularly effective, as I also believe that we learn better when we have fun and enjoy ourselves. For adults, I am prepared to deliver a more formal and rigorous style of teaching if required.

My stated rate generally applies per hour per tutee, though I offer a discount for group sessions.

I am also willing to travel to tutees` premises if required. I charge £5 for every half an hour travelled. For example, for a round trip of 45 minutes I would charge an additional £5 on top of my hourly rate.
