Hello,
I am a Business Studies teacher, with a current DBS check.
After achieving my degree in Business Education at Coleraine University, I moved to Liverpool to complete my PGCE at Edge Hill University. Following this I received a job in a secondary school in Chester as a Business teacher and decided to move to this area.
I am an enthusiastic teacher who has developed a real love for the subject and hope to pass on this passion to others. I am able to offer 1 to 1 sessions, which are catered to the individuals need to ensure they achieve their potential.
Availability: I am available Monday to Friday evenings. Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday afternoon and evening.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I am a Business Studies teacher within an OFSTED rated Outstanding School in Cheshire. I have taught Business Studies GCSE, A Level and BTEC for four years and therefore have a depth subject knowledge which covers a range of different specifications.
I am also an examiner for Edexcel and therefore am able to teach exam technique at a high standard. This ensures the student is able to reach their full potential as they know how to answer each question set.

Gina was helpful with exam technique and going over topics I felt less confident in. However in comparison to my other tutors I had, she was not consistently helpful. Any questions I completed and sent over, she wouldn`t always mark them or she`d wait till our following session to have a look at it and as I did fortnightly sessions that was too long to wait. This would simply take up time of the hour session I had paid for, where as my other tutors would have it marked and sent back with good feedback before our next session. I sent Gina a question I had done 3 days before my last a level paper and unfortunately I didn`t get any feedback on it which would have made me feel more confident going into my exam. This gave me the impression she wasn`t that interested in helping me. To be able to offer tutoring you should have the time to do so and help outside of the sessions, my other tutors would send me revision materials or any class resources they had that they thought would benefit me, I had asked Gina if she had anything that would be beneficial to me and she said "what do you mean?". Unfortunately, I don`t recommend if you are needing a lot of support.

Hi Ruby,
I am very sorry that you felt this way, and wish you would have mentioned it during our sessions. Unfortunately as I discussed with you, I am a full time teacher and tried to fit all my tutees in 2 days prior to their exam and unfortunately due to this did not have the time to mark these additional questions that you set yourself. I did however mark others and provided you with voice notes or written feedback. When I discussed the feedback during sessions it was to ensure you understood the exam skills. I apologise if this was not what you expected, however without knowing the problem I could not resolve it.
In regards to additional resources, I do believe that I sent you a lot of PowerPoints, Videos and past paper questions. When you asked for additional resources, I asked what topics you needed and which you were struggling with. As explained the pre release changes every year with Edexcel so therefore resources can be scarce.

Gina has been an outstanding tutor for my daughter Zara who was really struggling with exam technique and time management for her Business A level. She has really helped her understand Business and she comes out smiling out of every session. My daughter says she is friendly, makes lessons fun, adapts to how you learn, makes sure you understand before she moves on and gives constructive feedback. She said she is genuinely one of the best teachers she has ever had. We would highly recommend Gina.
