Information about Karen
I have a First Class Honours degree in Human Biology and apart from my teaching experience I have worked in medicine, clinical research and forensic science. My background gives me a broad and in depth knowledge of different applications of Biology and valuable real world experience to bring to my teaching. My tutorials emphasise increasing confidence and improving exam technique alongside a thorough understanding of the academic aspects of the subject. I also believe that communication and feedback with the parent is important to helping the student achieve their potential.
Availability: Thursday-Sunday daytime or evening.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I am a qualified teacher (PGCE Oxford) with experience teaching Biology and General Science in secondary schools and at A-Level college. I have also tutored students privately for many years. I have taught students with learning difficulties, those needing to achieve A-C grades in GCSE and students working to attain maximum grades at A-Level.

Karen was an excellent tutor to my son and daughter who were both taking biology A level. She supplied plenty of resources to improve their understanding of biology and exam technique.

My daughter has only had a few lessons with Karen but she is very impressed. She knows the syllabus well and is giving my daughter the confidence to believe in herself. Part of the battle I feel. She is patient and very positive. I would highly recommend her.

Karen was enormously helpful in giving my son the confidence to approach the volume of work calmly and methodically. Although not his best or favourite subject, he achieved an `A` at AS level which was fantastic.
