Experience: I am a native English and French Speaker with fluent Spanish. Born in France and raised in France by British parents, I was exposed to language learning from a very young age. I turned this into a passion throughout my schooling and ended up doing a degree in Modern Foreign Language where I perfected my Spanish.
Teaching English to my classmates and younger students was a sure money earner when I was a teenager. I also taught English to children living on the streets in Mexico during my university year abroad. Having found a love for teaching English, as I had the money saved and had completed my degree I flew to Thailand to complete a TEFL course (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). With my TEFL certificate in hand I was offered a job at Rayong English Programme School.
It wasn`t long before I decided I wanted to become a qualified MFL teacher back in the UK. I enrolled in a PGCE course at Canterbury Christ Church University and qualified as a French and Spanish teacher.
I have since worked in various secondary schools in Kent and more recently set up my own English language school.
As you can see, I have turned my passion for languages into a job that I love and I truly believe that this shows in my teaching. My language skills have enabled me to travel the world, immerse myself in new cultures and open my eyes to the importance of speaking and understanding multiple languages. Something that, in my opinion, British people need to work on...
