I am a private tutor based in North-East London/West Essex.
I studied Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College and graduated with a Batchelors degree – and I loved it so much that I went back to get my Doctorate! I am also a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Since leaving university I have worked on some high profile projects in the automotive, rail and oil industries, so I have been constantly using and applying my mathematics and science knowledge throughout the whole of my career. I am, therefore, well placed to understand the relevance and importance of all of these subjects and the difficulties which arise in the interpretation and application of them.
Throughout all of this I have tutored privately on an occasional basis, and also mentored young professionals on their way to further education, qualifications and to becoming Chartered Engineers themselves.

My approach to tutoring is to listen and to guide. Encouraging questions is the best way forward and I find that tutees progress rapidly in this way. Engineering has taught me that there isn’t only one way to do things, so I am very used to tailoring my methods to suit the individual. Together we can work together to identify any gaps or under-confidence in knowledge, to improve learning and understanding.
