Hello! I am an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of French and German in UK secondary schools. I also have 25 years experience as an examiner for GCSE and A Level giving me an even greater insight into what is needed for good results. I also have experience of teaching adults - both beginners and those looking to improve their languages. I have taught primary languages too. I am happy to teach all levels and abilities. I prepare my lessons carefully for each individual student and send notes afterwards to help with learning.
Availability: I am very flexible and can be available any day or time.

Helen taught my son French from year 9 to his actual GCSEs in Year 11. Her one to one lessons were engaging and encouraging and my son benefitted hugely from Helen’s inspiring and patient tuition especially the revision practice leading up to the actual GCSE exam. He managed to increase his grade from predicted 5 to 7 and working with Helen hugely contributed to this achievement!

Helen has tutored my daughter in German for a couple of years, taking her from scratch (v basic Duolingo) to Higher Paper GCSE very smoothly. She has a lovely supportive and encouraging manner and was flexible and responsive when it came to logistics. Highly recommended.
