Information about Maisie
I am a recent graduate from BMus from the Royal Academy of Music, studying Oboe as my principal instrument. Former to this I studied at Chetham`s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music Junior department.
At the age of 5 I began to study the Recorder and Piano, both of which I received my grade 8. I enjoyed playing them so much I took up the oboe at the age of 13 and this is where my musical interest blossomed. Alongside this I developed a love of singing, and took part in many music festivals and various choirs.
At a professional level, I freelance across London orchestras, mainly concentrating on Oboe and Cor Anglais. I have performed at many prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Barbican, Milton Court, to name a few.
Availability: Flexible to your timetable.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: I have been teaching for many years now, privately and in independent schools, with pupils at many different levels, ages and circumstance. I run several woodwind chamber groups, covering flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone, which gives me a well-rounded knowledge of all woodwind instruments.
I have taken my pupils through many exams; theory, piano and oboe, all showing fantastic results. Recent successes include 96% in Grade 5 theory 96% and 83% in Grade 6 oboe.
But I also teach people `just for fun!`, so can adapt to whichever you need.
