Niamh

Hi, my name is Niamh and I am a fully qualified Maths teacher. I am a data analyst for the Civil Service but was a full time maths teacher until July 23.
I graduated in 2014 after studying Maths and Education in Galway, Ireland. I am very passionate and enthusiastic about maths.

I am a patient, friendly and approachable person. My students are always happy to ask me for help during lessons. I can cater for different learners of any ability. I am confident I can help students improve their subject knowledge as well as their confidence in maths. I am very willing to go over a topic as often as the pupil needs, as I appreciate that maths does not come easy to everyone.

My philosophy is to make sure my students fully understand the basic concepts of the subject first. I believe this is vital to their success in maths. I use past GCSE exam papers and questions to consolidate learning and show students what is expected of them in a test/exam.

Availability: I am available weekdays (in the evenings) and weekends

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I spent 10 years teaching every year group from year 7 up to year 11. I have taught every ability in maths - from top set classes who are working towards grades 7/8/9 to lower ability classes who are working towards a grade 4 in order to pass the subject. I have had great success with pupils and every student I have tutored has made progress.
