Information about John
I received my PhD in philosophy from King`s College London in 2016. I am passionate about teaching philosophy and politics, both to university students and secondary school pupils studying for A Levels. My discursive approach helps develop critical thinking and the skills required for students to reason and argue for themselves in a structured way. This dialectical training is essential for success in essay based arts and humanities subjects, both at university and A Level.
Availability: All week flexibility for daytime and after school tutorial sessions.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have 7 years teaching experience as a university tutor in philosophy and politics. While I was working on my masters and PhD I supervised students at King`s in small group tutorials and seminars in the following areas: political philosophy, ethics, global justice, epistemology, philosophy of mind and logic and metaphysics. I also have extensive experience teaching A Level philosophy and religious studies. In 2010 I was awarded the graduate teaching award by the philosophy department at King`s College London on the basis of student nominations.
