I am a highly experienced teacher of over 25 years. Have worked in both the state sector and independent sector and have been head of department in three schools. Became assistant head at a prestigious independent school before moving to part time to raise my family. I have a passion for teaching and tutoring and have been graded outstanding by my previous schools for my teaching. I have been tutoring at home now for a few years and have had great success - most recently with one student who went from a grade 4 to a grade 8. Most of my students achieve at least a one grade rise with some achieving a two grade improvement. I look forward to tutoring your child.

Availability: I am now taking on students for the next academic year. In addition to the regular time slots below which run during term time, I do run sessions throughout the holidays including the summer holidays for those students wanting a head start or those facing exams upon their return to school in September.

I have been using Zoom since lockdown and found it to be very successful in keeping students up to speed with their curriculum.

Experience: I have been teaching for over 25 years - working in both the state and independent sector. I started as a mainscale teacher and was promoted to Head of Department - eventually leading in total three very successful departments in three different schools - my last one being Head of Department for 9 years. I am now in a highly academic independent school teaching Science up to GCSE and Biology A Level. I enjoy teaching all levels of ability including 4-5 grade pupils and also those looking to achieve grade 9. I am also very experienced in teaching KS3 Science. I use ICT as a form of teaching as well as worksheets and past paper exam questions. I will set homework that will be marked in time for the next session and will ensure understanding of the topic before moving on to the next. I have been awarded `Outstanding` for my teaching in previous schools and am regularly praised for my good relationships with my students.
If you would like an assessment session before committing please do contact me and I will get back to you to organise a suitable time. Parents are free to stay for the first couple of sessions if they wish to ensure they are happy with my service.
I also offer group sessions of up to three students at a discounted rate if you would like that opportunity. I hope to hear from you soon.
