Information about James
Im a friendly, results-driven maths tutor helping KS3, GCSE, Functional Skills and adult learners build confidence and hit their target grades. I teach mostly AQA and Edexcel (Foundation & Higher) and have experience with other boards. Since 2018 Ive supported learners of all abilities - from anxious students who need steady confidence-building to adults returning to study. Recent wins include moving a GCSE student from a Grade 5 to 7 so they could progress to A-Level Maths.
I hold an enhanced DBS and a BA (PPE, Warwick), MA (Leadership in Learning, Manchester) and PGCE/QTS in Mathematics (Manchester). Ive taught in secondary schools including Darwen Aldridge Community Academy and The Elton High School. Lessons are online or in-person (Bolton, Bury, Salford), using a visualiser, targeted practice packs and past-paper booklets. Expect clear explanations, lots of guided practice, and smart exam technique.
Availability: I teach evenings and weekends during term-time, with added holiday availability for mock and exam prep. In-person: Bolton, Bury, Salford. Online: UK-wide.
