My degree is English/Health studies and has proved to be extremely useful. I have completed a Diploma course in Literacy level 5, which has stretched my knowledge in the English language area. Due to my varied experience I feel that I undertake a holistic approach to teaching. I understand the dispositions of some students and therefore adapt my teaching techniques accordingly. I have taught some of the most disengaged students and feel I did this well due to my experience of behaviour management. I have excellent student voice and met targets due to dedicated teaching strategies that I deliver with great passion, diligence and fun.
I have worked hard in delivering English to disengaged students who have slowly and (surprisingly to them) relentlessly become interested in the subject. I have made the learning environment fun and infectious with humour and real practical learning experiences that the students can relate to. This has meant the students have progressed and are confident in their learning.
