An unassuming, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about the holistic learning experience. I am able to offer tuition in Chemistry and Human Biology to A level and Physics and Maths to GCSE. Originally my trade was that of an industrial chemist - I entered teaching in 1992 and qualified with a B. Ed. in Chemistry. My approach is firmly that of student-centred education, whereby the learner directs the subject matter to be considered and is fully involved in the educational process. However, should the need arise I am happy to provide pre-prepared teaching material as required.

Availability: Evenings after 4 and weekends by negotiation. However, if home schooling is a consideration I am happy to discuss week daytime tuition.

Experience: I have been teaching since September 1994, initially as a KS3/4 science teacher in maintained secondary schools. Since then I have broad experience of supply teaching, private tutoring and more recently as a lecturer in further education, and as such I have encountered virtually all educational circumstances. Additionally I can also offer some 15 years of industrial and commercial experience, which has provided invaluable resources in terms of contextualising learning for dealing with conceptual topics.
