I am happy to meet students at the University of Aberdeen or in my home area of Hatton, Aberdeenshire.
In 2008 I graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an M.A. Honours (First) in History and International Relations, followed by a Master of Letters in Modern Historical Studies in 2009. I completed my Ph.D in History at the University in July 2014.
I am currently an Academic Skills Adviser (Academic Writing) at the University of Aberdeen. I am based in the Student Learning Service within the Centre for Academic Development. In my position as an Academic Skills Adviser (Academic Writing), I work with students to develop their academic skills through the provision of workshops, study advice sessions and online resources. This includes a wide range of topics covering all aspects of academic writing including critical thinking, reading and writing and avoiding plagiarism, in all disciplines
