Hi, My name is Jenna and I am a 2nd year Dental Student. I am experienced with tutoring Geography to younger students aged KS3-GCSE between 2022-2024, but now after receiving an A* in the subject achieving A*AA overall at A-Level, I am confident that I will be able to transfer my experience and fresh knowledge to help support and teach A-level Students.
As a tutor, I am dedicated to helping students reach their full academic potential, whilst also boosting their confidence in the subject and themselves. I am friendly and patient with my students and have developed guaranteed methods to help students understand difficult concepts and to remember key facts and figures.
I believe that in order to prepare sufficiently for geography examinations its important to have a deep understanding of the topics but have also learnt over the years that exam technique and tackling difficult questions carefully, focusing on key terminology, is the key to reaching top grades at A-level.
I understand that each student learns differently and finds different concepts difficult and so I will be encouraging them to ask many questions. I will also tailor each lesson to their requirements and will encourage them to work collaboratively with myself but also complete solo tasks for me to mark and read over, to evaluate if their understanding of content is being fully portrayed within their answers clearly, helping them fully reach top band answers and pick up all those AO1 and AO2 marks.
Something that many students struggle with within Geography is timing of their answers and knowing how much detail to put into each answer, without repetition or deviating away from the question, and so this is something that I have found solutions for, which has worked with for myself and my students.
I have also got experience on completing NEA projects (Edexcel A-level) and gained a final 66/70 on my project, and so will be able to guide my students on what to write about and provide them with a checklist to help them cover all specification points.

What to expect when booking a session with me:
• A recap activity based on a topic we have recently covered, recalling key facts or a difficult concept that they may have struggled with before.
• Answer any questions that they may have from their own work, outside of our lessons/ from a task that I may have set for them to complete individually.
• Introduce the new topic/ concept that I will be covering in the lesson and connect it to a specification point.
• Most of the lesson will be focusing on the student`s preferred topic, aiming to fill in any gasping their knowledge and deepening their understanding and confidence through various activities.
• The session will end with some consolidation and again this provides the student with time to ask any questions and this helps me evaluate how confident they feel with this topic and prepare for the following one.

Availability: Tuesdays between 1pm and 4pm
Some Wednesdays
Thursdays between 1pm and 5pm
Fridays after 5pm
Weekends will be more flexible
