Information about Pam
With over 30 years in teaching I am very experienced and have the patience to help overcome dozens of problems children encounter. I enjoy teaching and have helped children aged 9-16 improve in English and English Literature, to great success in their exams. I also prepare children for 11+ exams.
I am a friendly but firm teacher, and I always succeed in building an improved attitude to English.
I can also offer Drama and Theatre Studies tutoring for A level candidates.
I have a recent DBS certificate.
Availability: Daytime for children not in school plus a few remaining sessions 3-8.30pm Monday-Thursday or Saturday mornings.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Previously I have been a secondary school and Sixth form college teacher of English and Theatre Studies, I have been teaching over 30 years and have been very successful with all age groups. As head of department I have an excellent overview as well as the capability to adapt to children`s differing needs and styles of learning, as well as completely up to date in terms of syllabus and exam technique,
I have been teaching one to one over the last six years, often liaising with the student`s school English teacher in order to accelerate compatible areas for improvement.
I have knowkedge and skills in approaching the new GCSE, which is creating quite a challenge in schools.

Pam was listed as a nearby tutor which is why I`ve signed up to get her assistance but later it turned out that she lives a bit far from our place. But as my Son needed help, so decided to commute this long distance and I am glad that I took that decision. Pam was able to help my son to get up to speed very quickly and not my Son isn`t really too keen in learning English and almost rejects the idea of studying English literature as a subject of study. But Pam was able to help with the mind shift of my son and he has done exceedingly well compared to where he was before with his English. If the location wasn`t that far, I would have signed up with her for my daughter as well. I strongly recommend Pam.
