Information about Benjamin
I am a Master`s student at the University of Oxford who is studying World Literature, and I have studied Archaeology and Anthropology at the same University for my undergraduate. My dissertation research has focused on the cross-over between anthropology and literary studies, so I am also comfortable blending subject areas if needed, and can help with interview preparation, essay structure, and effective ways of reading academic material. I have experience as a cover teacher at Tiffin School, in London, and as Programme Leader for NCS The Challenge, so have plenty of experience teaching and leading young people.
Availability: Due to low contact hours in term time, I will be able to organise a time to tutor at most times convenient to you.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: As part of my degree, I have regular contact with academics in both Anthropology, Archaeology and English departments, and have geared my studies towards an academic career, so have no problem tutoring to a degree level in this regard. I have experience teaching school English classes up to GCSE level, and can tutor in a range of subjects up to A Level, having been through the system myself and thus understanding how it works, and how to prepare effectively for exams. I work as a cover teacher at a secondary grammar school, and have extensive experience teaching English as a foreign language, so have no problem teaching or designing effective lesson plans to a wide variety of abilities and ages ( - I`ve previously taught people between the ages of 10 - 18).
