Information about Joseph
I am an experienced Head of Religious Studies, and also tutor in Health and Social Care, Education, Management, Theology, Sociology, Study Skills, Essay Writing Skills, Critical Thinking and Research Skills. I also offer a professional Proofreading service for university students.
In addition to my teaching and other qualifications such as Business Studies and PGCE, I have a Certificate in World Religions (Oxford University), Masters degree in Humanities (Sheffield University), a Masters degree in Research (University of Wales, Bangor).
I offer online lessons with Zoom, which most students prefer.
I am very enthusiastic about teaching and ensuring all my students succeed, no matter their ability. I have taught for over 25 years (enhanced DBS). I have been teaching and tutoring from GCSE, AS, A2 up to postgraduate degree level. I have discovered that students at all levels tend to need help with study skills and essay writing skills, so I normally include this in any post-GCSE tutoring I do. Degree students have benefited from my proofreading services, which has always enhanced their grades, and this applies to any subject.

Experience: I started teaching in 1991 and tutoring in 1998. I have taught many students with a wide raneg of abilities. I have tutored at different levels from GCSE up to postgraduate degree level, for various examination boards including AQA, OCR, WJEC/EDUQAS and IGCSE. I always ensure that I give my best to my students and enable them to achieve their academic goals.
Subjects I have taught include Sociology, Religious Studies, Psychology, Health and Social Care, Business Studies, Theology, Study Skills, Essay Writing Skills, Critical Thinking and Research Skills. I also offer a professional Proofreading service for university students.
I respect the uniqueness of each student, applying a student-centred approach. My first step with a new student is to understand his or her specific needs in order to tailor prepare the tutoring to overcome those specific needs. Sometimes it is help with subject knowledge revision, at other times it has to do with learning skills, for some it is gaining familiarity with the subject and its concepts, while for others it might simply be an issue of low self-confidence with a new subject. I utilise different styles and strategies, depending on the student`s learning needs and ability.
