I am an enthusiastic and supportive teacher and I am happy to support individuals and improve their confidence in Primary or Secondary Maths or English (Grammar, Spelling, reading/comprehension or writing tasks). I tailor and differentiate my lessons in order to provide your child with the best possible tutoring session and I am committed to helping them achieve their up-most potential. Tutoring is a very individual experience which is why I enjoy it so much. I completely understand that some children just need a confidence boost or help to enjoy a subject whilst others have goals of achieving in exams. You and your child set the goal and I will be happy to help.

KS1/ KS2- It is vital that children have a love of learning at this age and I believe children can easily be engaged by tailoring sessions that suit their learning style. I help develop confidence and help to progress children in preparation for the demands of the curriculum.

Year 5/6 SATs preparation- Prepare your child thoroughly for the tough KS2 examinations. I will work alongside yourself and your child to develop a plan and target any areas of weakness in either Maths or English to ensure your child achieves their best in their SATs tests. This will also prepare them for the demands of high school.

11+ preparation - I will work alongside yourself and your child to help prepare them for their 11+ entrance exams. Sessions will include practise tests and also pay lots of attention to areas of weakness in order for your child to achieve their best. Children start preparing for these exams from as young as Year 3/4.

KS3/ GCSE Preperation - If your child is to achieve their best in their GCSEs examinations, it is vital that in Year 7,8 and 9 children use this time wisely to become secure in their Maths. I also have booster sessions or practise GCSE papers with Year 10 and 11.

Availability: Weekday evenings, weekends and school holidays. I tutor at my home in Crosby or I can travel to you.

Experience: I have been a qualified primary teacher for 4 years and I currently teach Year 6 children. I have lots of experience of working with children across all key stages and have taught ages 4-16years. I also have experience tutoring children in Foundation GCSE maths.

I believe learning is an individual experience and I am happy to tailor and adapt my lessons to the needs of the child whilst still challenging the child academically and improving their skills.
