Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
Working with children and helping them feel more confident during lessons is really important for me as a teacher. Every child learns at a different pace and as teachers it is really important that we acknowledge this and that we are truly understanding in order to help them progress with their learning.
This is why as a teacher I put my children’s needs first. Moreover, I am patient, approachable and I adapt my lessons easily to best suit my learners. I love to be creative when teaching and I ensure progress is made by knowing my pupils right from the beginning.
I follow the National Curriculum to help plan my lessons and to gage where your child should be. I also believe in transparency and working together as a team in order to help all pupils succeed.
Availability: I am mostly available on the weekends, however I can offer weekday availability too.

Experience: I am a fully qualified teacher (PGCE and QTS) and I am currently working in Key Stage 2. I have previous experience working in Key Stage 1 too. I have prepared children for Phonics Screening tests, Year 2 SATS, Year 4 MTC and Year 6 SATS.

Karen has been tutoring our child in Y6 Spanish, due to gaps from the pandemic and home educating. Her lessons are well structured and very interactive and engaging. Our son`s conversational skills and grammar are progressing well.

Miss Karen is an outstanding tutor. She has assisted our child towards year 6 Sat`s & addressed knowledge gaps for year 7 transition. 1st class tutor. She is warm and nurturing, quickly building a great relationship the child putting them at ease. Explains complex problems in easy understandable and digestible format. Tracks child`s progress and understanding. Every lesson is well prepared and thought out with how to progress your child with full feedback given to parents at the end of the session. Miss Karen has gone out of her way to suggest materials and help available to us outside of her tutoring to aid our childs progress. She cares and is passionate about teaching and the children love her. Ever child should have a teacher like Miss Karen.

Karen is friendly, calm, patient and professional. Our daughter immediately warmed to her which was great, and reassuring. She is always on time and shares feedback either in person briefly after the lesson and/or via messages with pictures explaining what`s happened in the lesson. We are really happy to have found Karen for support through the summer holidays. Very happy with her teaching style and warm and friendly demeanour. Wouldn`t hesitate to recommend.

Karen has diligently prepared for sessions with our year 3 son, ensuring she addresses his development needs at the same time as engaging him into fun learning exercises. For a slightly reluctant learner, we have been encouraged to see his level of engagement and credit Karen`s style and effort.
