Information about Chris
I am a 3rd year astrophysics PhD student at University College London with a 1st class Masters degree in Physics with Astronomy from Cardiff University. My research field is cosmology, studying the evolution of the universe shortly after the big bang. I have a wide range of expertise in mathematics, physics, and programming. I am looking to tutor A-level and GCSE students in subjects related to physics, mathematics and computer science.
I really enjoy tutoring and talking to people about physics and science, and passing on tricks of the trade that I picked up going through a scientific education. I am particularly interested in tutoring students with maths anxiety - something that I suffered from early on in my education and found techniques to overcome.
Availability: Weekday evenings in the region of 6-8pm, or weekends.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have experience tutoring students at UCL working as a laboratory demonstrator for computational physics modules, and acting as a peer mentor for younger students. I have also supervised summer schools at UCL for GCSE students with interests related to physics and astronomy.
