Imagine how much you like your favourite thing in life, multiply that by ten thousand; that`s how much I love teaching Economics, especially via remote learning tutorials.
I remember how it feels to feel lost at the back of the classroom, and know the joy of completely mastering a subject and gaining the highest marks possible in public exams. I know that the difference between the two lies not in natural talent, but hard work, patient guidance, effective feedback and building up some self-belief.
After twenty years of teaching including fifteen years at a top independent school. I now teach part time, tutor and marking public exams. I specialise in remote tutorials via Zoom and have taught online for well over 1000 hours; it`s a fabulous way to make rapid progress and means that I can tutor people from around the world.
Whether your son or daughter needs some targeted help for one or two tutorials, some focused examination guidance, or is totally befuddled by the subject and doesn`t know what to do, I am here to help. My tutorials include free of charge annotated slides and notes; they are fun, engaging, unashamedly exam-focused, and they make a real difference.

Experience: Twenty years teaching A level Economics to the highest level. Plenty of examining, most recently in Summer 2025 when I was allowed to mark over 1,400 items on A level Economics Paper 1for Edexcel. All of my marking was highly accurate - and these things are carefully monitored!

Gavin always sends useful feedback via email after each lesson and includes his own slides for further revision which is very helpful to me, as a parent, as I can check my son`s progress. The communication regarding the setting up of each lesson is very good too. Gavin is very upbeat and positive in each session which maintains my son`s interest in Economics.

Gavin is truly awesome. If you have the opportunity to have him as a tutor then 100% go for it. My daughter was close to dropping out of A level Economics at the start of Y13. But right from the first session Gavin made her feel valued, listened to, and gave her the confidence she needed. He made even the most complicated of subjects relevent by explaining them in real world scenarios she could understand. She ended the year with an exceptional grade B, but most importantly a huge smile.
