I have been an A level examiner for both OCR and CIE economics and have recent experiencing in teaching and tutoring all of the main exam boards (Edexcel, AQA, OCR, Eduqas and CIE) for economics. Economics at A level is an applied subject and I bring the subject to life using relevant examples that are likely to be examined in the next exam cycle, that is, the next three years. Many long economics answers focus on a controversial issue that requires high level evaluation, therefore I work with students so that they can assess an issue, as well as providing a thorough and cogent analysis. I have prepared a wealth of model answers covering the different parts of the various specifications.
I have also taught A level Geography for most of my career and been an A level examiner too. I have recent experience teaching CIE, Eduqas, OCR, and AQA specifications. Geography is a very diverse subject and I do need to discuss the options taught by a school or college in order to decide whether I am the right tutor given the option units that the school or college is teaching. My approach to tutoring geography involves a significant amount of discussion and where possible use up to date case studies.
I have successfully helped students from the UK and overseas, having recently worked in a college that taught students from the local area and students from all over the world. The approach supplements work done in schools and allows students to develop the higher order thinking skills they need to achieve high grades.

Availability: I am available most times although I try to keep Saturday, afternoon, Sunday and Wednesday clear of tutoring if at all possible.

Experience: I have recently taught A2 and AS level Economics in a variety of schools and have been head of economics at a large secondary school. I have been an examiner for Cambridge International Examinations in economics, marking the data response and essays paper. I have also examined A level micro and macro economics papers for OCR.
I have tutored students for AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas, CIE and OCR Economics AS and A2, both micro and macro economics.
I have taught A level Geography or IB Geography for 25 years and been a head of department for 19. I was an A level Geography examiner for 7 years
