Information about Julia
I`m Julia - an ex-teacher, hopefully here to help! Maybe your child needs a curriculum catch up after a muddled and uncertain year, or maybe they`re majoring on mastering maths? Perhaps they`re finding creative writing to be calamitous or maybe a short sharp assault on SPAG is what they need. Sometimes the fraction gremlins get a grip and cause chaos with confidence! Whatever you`re aiming to improve on, I hope to be able to help your child reach their target.
About me : I`m 54, live just outside Worcester and have two boys studying at Bath and Loughborough Universities. I enjoy cycling, baking and getting out and about in the countryside with the dog.
Availability: Weekdays : late afternoons and early evenings

Experience: School Experience
With 15 years experience working with children in Worcestershire primary schools, I have a degree in Early Childhood & Education Studies (graduated 2009) and completed the Graduate Teacher Program (Employment Based Initial Teacher Training) in 2012. I am now enjoying supporting teaching and learning in a large Worcester primary school where part of my role is to organise and teach intervention maths, english, reading and spelling to individual children and small groups.
An experienced primary practitioner, I recognise the vital importance of positive relationships between teacher and young learner and understand the significance of a nurturing, confidence-building context for exploring learning concepts and correcting misconceptions. Supportive of mainstream in-school teaching, my tutoring approach is child and parent led and negotiated, aimed at building confidence, filling in gaps in learning and extending opportunities for children to flourish. I have enjoyed working closely with several children with Special Educational Needs and I have been thanked by parents and staff for my kind, friendly, patient and supportive manner.
