Information about Lucy
I discovered I had a profound interest in foreign languages from a very early age, and when language classes were introduced in my last years of primary school I realised I had a passion for grammar structures in particular. I am happy to help any younger students in preparation for GCSE or A Level exams better their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, or perhaps help first-time language learners understand the basics. Please e-mail me with any questions you may have!
Availability: I currently work part time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and so my availability to tutor in daytime hours is not affected. I am happy to tutor from my home in Hythe (a 15 minute drive from the town of Southampton) but I would be willing to travel to a local library or school of some sort.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I completed GCSE and A Level education with high qualifications in English, Spanish and French, achieving a score total of 299/300 marks over 4 different exam papers in GCSE Spanish alone. I have been familiar with French for a very long time (its grammar rules in particular) but I have studied Spanish (my preferred language) in higher level education for a total of 4 years.
I have experience both acting as a French tutor for my peers in college and have also been tutored myself in Spanish for my own enjoyment many years ago. I have spent time in Spain with a host family to improve my speaking and listening abilities.
