Tutoring (online & in-person) has been one of the rewarding jobs I`ve ever had, and that is because I value quality education and the opportunities it can provide - for anyone who is willing to learn. Knowledge is indeed power, and it`s a privilege to be able to empower children and young people to overcome challenges in their subjects, to achieve highly and gain confidence as learners.

I love to learn, to improve myself, and use what I learn to either create something, achieve something or share with someone else.
I achieved A-Levels in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (achieving A*A*A respectively, as well as 1A and 12A*s at GCSE) and have been able to apply this over the years to work as an engineer and a designer. My creativity and my mathematical abilities go hand in hand, and my creative foundation has given me a great appreciation for presentation and visual communication - both of which help significantly in making concepts easier for students to understand. I`m also able to come up with different ways of explaining concepts and ideas, to make difficult questions less intimidating, and to keep the lessons engaging.

- Tuesdays after school
- Wednesdays after school
- Saturdays until 1pm

Availability: Weekdays: Tuesday evenings and Wednesday evenings.

Experience: Each child is unique, and I honour that as a tutor. During my lessons, I take personal responsibility for ensuring my students understand the concepts we cover together, regardless of whether they were first introduced at school. Students have different learning styles, learning abilities and learning speeds, which I try to discover in the first few lessons. I typically approach my first tutoring lesson with a learning style quiz, to understand whether each student is primarily a visual learner, aural learner or kinaesthetic learner. I keep this in mind in subsequent lessons, and stay open to re-phrasing and re-explaining concepts in different ways, to help my students grasp concepts and make complicated ideas simpler. Most notably, I`ve helped students exceed their predicted grades and get ahead of the school teaching through the confidence they`ve gained.
