Doctor of Chemistry available for tutoring all science subjects up to GCSE and Chemistry to A Level. Degree level Chemistry tutoring can be available on request.

I currently work as an Outreach Officer for St Anne`s College, Oxford University where I work with young people from year 6 upwards covering all aspects from what university is all the way through to advice and guidance on the Oxford application process. I am more than willing to give help with personal statements, and general advice sessions for admissions tests and interviews, although I do not tutor for any of the tests themselves.

My approach to tutoring is to work with my students to find a style of teaching that suits them best as I am of the opinion that no two pupils are the same. So, when I start working with a tutee I will always discuss with them what they want to gain from the sessions and what areas, aspects or topics they feel they need to cover. I am equally happy to provide a space for pupils to sure up their foundation of knowledge so they can engage better during class or to act as a means for them to stretch themselves beyond the curriculum.

In and of myself, I feel that young people deserve the space and opportunity to achieve their best, whatever that may be.

Availability: My general availability is Thursday and Friday after school/evenings and during the day on Weekends. However, please do enquire to get more exact information.

Experience: I have a wealth of subject knowledge stemming from an MChem, 1st class honours, from the University of Sheffield followed by a PhD in computational astrochemistry from the same institution. During my PhD I spent 800 hours teaching undergraduate students in the teaching labs, both in Sheffield and at a partner institution in China. As a result of this I have gained Fellow of the Higher Education Academy status. I have also worked in an 11-16 secondary school giving small group teaching in the science department as well as being a member of the pastoral support team, before joining St Anne`s as an Outreach Officer. Besides my formal employment I have also volunteered with a youth support charity, allowing my to gain qualified youth worker status.
