Science teacher/head of department with over 20 years classroom teaching experience.
I believe that outstanding teaching is achieved through several different areas, but the main requirement is a love and passion for the subject, and an ability to communicate this to the students.
Over my teaching career I have taught in 4 different schools, including employment for 5 years as Head of a Science, where our department received an outstanding grade in an Ofsted inspection. I then moved to Northampton School for Girls after my son was born. Here I concentrated on my classroom skills and was graded as an outstanding teacher due to my teaching style and delivery of assessment for learning.
Most recently I was employed as an A Level Physics Teacher at an independent, international School.

Experience: With over 20 years classroom teaching experience (science, specialising in Physics) I can demonstrate knowledge of both my subject, of how pupils learn and how this impacts teaching. I also have an extensive experience of many different Science courses, AQA, Edexcel, IGCSE and OCR. Having taught in a variety of schools each with their different challenges I have imbedded many different techniques that help me to do this.
I was lucky to work at Northampton School for Girls for ten years. Here I was able to gain experience through the entire educational spectrum. As a city comprehensive the students came from many different backgrounds; ability, religion, ethnicity, EAL students and exceptionally able students. I was most recently employed at Bosworth`s Independent International College as a teacher of A-level Physics.
