Whatever your starting point even the highest grades are attainable if you are guided through A Level PE with the right coaching and teaching that enables you to believe that you CAN achieve what may currently seem impossible. As a Head of Sixth Form and teacher of A Level PE for the past 22 years, seeing many young people (including my now 22 year old son) initially struggle with a subject going on to achieve the very highest grades required to make it to their first choice destination is the reason I continue to offer support through tutoring A Level PE and in the main the Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics components of the course.
I see learning as a two-step process prioritising the development of an understanding of the needs of the learner, both in terms of their learning style and conceptual barriers, as well as their organisational skills and routines. Key to this is the creation of a safe, honest environment built on mutual respect. I encourage students to be open and honest about their commitment to improving, so that I can build in challenge as their confidence grows.
I do recommend that student seek additional support early so that the right skill set is developed to ensure that the very highest grades are accessed.

Paired sessions can also be arranged where two students wish to be tutored together. There is a reduction for the second student for this arrangement. The total charge for a paired session is £50.

I offer a free thirty minute consultation lesson to assess the needs of the student, and our mutual compatibility.

Sessions will be need to be conducted at my home where there is an environment that is conducive to maximising focus.

Experience: I have been a passionate teacher of young people now for 25 years. There is something uniquely fulfilling in watching the sometimes unsure and frustrated develop into confident, aspirational, determined and successful learner. For me the methodology of determining the best learning style for an individual is crucial so I can help students to develop the necessary skill set needed to unlock learning potential and secure maximum learning gains.
I am a Senior Assistant Headteacher at a Leamington School with responsibility of the academic progress and pastoral welfare of all 16-19 year olds. However, I have also enjoyed several promotions throughout my career including Head of PE and Head of Science and Technology Faculty, and currently also work as an advisor to other sixth forms helping them also raise their own schools attainment.
I have been awarded a consistently outstanding teaching profile across all year groups, and assist in the development of teaching practices from good to outstanding across the school. I think it is important to practice what I preach – with my own teaching results at A Level PE in 2019 seeing a cohort of 9 students all achieve overall grade A*to B, with the Physiology and Biomechanics paper I am responsible for students achieving 3 grade A*, 4 grade A and 2 grade C.
I have a BA (OTS) Hons in Physical Education with Biology (joint Hons) from The University of Warwick
I am experienced in developing a range of resources to engage students and stimulate learning.
I teach a range of levels and abilities of students from Y7-Y13. I am accomplished in teaching not only GCSE and A Level PE, but also Biology up to GCSE and previously Human Biology up to A Level.
