Information about Shahram
I am a UK-qualified teacher with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Southampton (2019), and over 21 years of experience teaching and tutoring Mathematics and Science, including Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
My academic background is in Chemical Engineering, with both a BSc and MSc in Chemical Process Engineering. This strong academic foundation, combined with extensive classroom and tutoring experience, allows me to explain complex concepts clearly and develop students confidence in their abilities.
I have taught Science at a number of schools, including University Technical College (UTC) Reading, The Vyne School (Basingstoke), Perins School (Alresford), PTS (Petersfield), and Park House School (Newbury). I have also taught Mathematics at Winton Academy in Andover.
I am experienced with the requirements of the major UK examination boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas, and have extensive access to teaching resources, past examination papers, worksheets and workbooks. My approach is structured and exam-focused: I identify each students areas for improvement and develop a clear, step-by-step strategy to turn weaknesses into strengths.
I primarily tutor students at KS3, GCSE and A-Level, supporting those who are aiming to achieve specific target grades or improve beyond their current level. Through careful planning, motivating and engaging lessons, and regular assessment of progress, I help students build both their subject knowledge and confidence. Exam technique is also an important part of my teaching, ensuring students are well prepared to demonstrate their knowledge effectively under examination conditions.
Every student is different, so I tailor my lessons according to their personality, ability, learning style, existing skills and individual needs. I am also trained and experienced in supporting SEN students, including students with dyslexia, Aspergers, autism and ADHD. In addition, I have experience tutoring home-schooled and international students, including those preparing for IGCSE examinations.
I take great pride in helping students make genuine academic progress, develop confidence and achieve their goals. My aim is not simply to improve grades, but to help students become more independent, motivated and confident learnerswhile providing parents with the reassurance of seeing clear and measurable progress.

Sessions are going very well. Student is able to go through weaker areas in depth and constant reversion to make sure everything has stuck.

Mr Shahram has been teaching our son Maths and Science 4 times a week, for about 7 months. He is a great, hardworking tutor - calm, patient and very engaging in his approach. His passion for teaching is very evident. Our son always looks forward to his lessons - no small feat, considering that he is very selective in who he responds to. Mr Shahram epitomises how a teacher should be.
Tutors Response :
Many thanks Anusha. It was my pleasure supporting Andon and I wish him success and happiness in all stages of life.

We were looking for a tutor to teach over Easter and arranged a tutorial, during which he told us he was unavailable for 2 weeks. Not very helpful on this front, so changed tutor.
Tutors Response :
Hi Lucy
Sorry for the miscommunication between us. I told all of my students that I am on holiday duting Easter for 2 weeks but still have had some lessons with some of my online students who asked for, over those 2 weeks. When I informed that I am on holiday for 2 weeks, I had not heard any feedback from you, assuming that you are also happy to have 2 sessions Easter holiday break, which apparently was not the case. Anyway, wish you and Oliver the best!
