I am a qualified Chartered science teacher with 12 years experience teaching KS3, 4 and 5. I have also worked as a Teaching and Learning Advisor for The University of Wolverhampton supporting teachers develop their practice.
My passion and interest in biological sciences started at primary school when I found a human biology book in the class library and became captivated by every page! Im still just as fascinated by the natural world as I was then.
I tutor KS3 science, GCSE Biology, iGCSE Biology, Core Physics and Chemistry, Additional Chemistry and A level Biology.
I have taught both OCR and AQA GCSE science, OCR Biology and Edexcel iGCSE Biology.
I am an evidence based practitioner and use strategies that encourage a holistic understanding rather than just remembering for exams. I discuss each pupils preferred learning style and areas for development I then use this information to prepare appropriate sessions focusing on developing the skills required for both exam preparation and a continued understanding of science.
I have experience of exam marking which has given me a good insight into supporting pupils with exam preparation.
I have kept abreast of recent curriculum changes at all levels and the implications, particularly to pupils currently in year 9.
