I am currently offering additional lessons via Zoom video conferencing for anyone who is looking for some support or a new hobby! Please note that if you have lessons at school, or with another tutor you should check first whether your current teacher is offering or planning to offer any online tuition.

I am a professional musician, performing and working on projects throughout Europe. I particularly enjoy teaching teenagers and adults at any stage in their music learning. I am happy to enter students for graded music exams to diploma level, with the focus always on understanding and enjoying music. I teach all styles of music, and encourage playing by ear, some theory and composition to give a holistic approach to music learning. I can also support composition and performance for GCSE & A level exams. With adult learners, I work on developing a secure technique, while ensuring the music is engaging and there is a sense of progression, whether through exams, or steady progress through learning a broad range of styles. I compose music with and for my students on a regular basis.

Availability: I work from home. I am currently opening up some weekday slots for Zoom video conference lessons during the COVID-19 situation.

Experience: I have been teaching piano for around 20 years, and have had many students successfully attaining graded exams to diploma level. I am currently working towards a PhD in Composition, having completed a MMus at the Royal Academy of Music (distinction) and BAHons at the University of Sussex (first class). I also work internationally as an examiner for the Trinity Music exams, specialising in Rock and Pop examining.
My large ensemble, The Spike Orchestra are signed to New York label Tzadik, releasing `Cerberus` in November 2014.
