Information about Han
Confident in Biology and Chemistry, I graduated with a First class Biomedical Science Degree from Queen Mary (QMUL) and am now currently studying Medicine at UCL. I aim to help my students be comfortable in their subjects by confidently applying exam techniques to ensure the possible best outcome.
After ensuring my students understand and are assured with a specific concept where they are certain they can explain it back to me, my teaching technique then focuses on active recall through exam questions and my own created questions, as well as space repetition where they will be quizzed every week on random but relevant topics as they are scientifically proven to be the most efficient learning strategies. I tailor each lesson to what the students wants and feels less convinced in.
In addition, I can help with student medical school applications, give advice and tips I have collated through my application journey. I am happy to do mock interviews online, help prepare for interviews, give feedback on personal statements and assist with BMAT preparation.
Availability: As a medical student, my timetable varies so I am very flexible and can accommodate to you.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have successfully tutored a handful of students where improvements in their grades have been witnessed. I have helped multiple student with their medical school applications and preparations for medical school interviews. I enjoy teaching biological concepts to peers on my course as it helps consolidate my knowledge and understanding too. I volunteered as a teaching assistant at a primary school. During my undergraduate degree, I coached weekly netball to secondary school students which helped develop my teaching skills. As I took the new A level syllabus, I have firsthand experience of what questions are commonly asked, what examiners look for in answers and key concepts students should understand.
